Before I gained my first degree, I was at a job where I was gaining experience. My boss would employ graduates that I would train but they will be getting better pay. I almost had low self-esteem but I loved my job and I was willing to keep giving my best. I had an understanding that the experience I gain cannot be taken from me. So I kept pressing forward as I gained mastery on the job.But one day, I summoned the courage to ask my boss why he paid me less despite that I was better than most of my colleagues and he responded that I only had the experience but didn’t have the certificate required. I was not discouraged so I didn’t resign.
I remember a trainee walked up to me one day with so much concern, and he said he could help get a fake certificate so that my boss will stop taking advantage of me. I declined, not because I couldn’t afford it but I knew who I was. I knew one day, I’ll be a youth counsellor and I couldn’t afford to tarnish my image.
My dear friend, I understand what it means to want to opt for a temporary solution due to frustration but long-lasting solutions and perseverance is what will bring you the honour.
A temporary solution is a stain you can’t afford, the consequences always show up even when you don’t expect.
Know who you are. It might seem difficult but stay on track and say no to CRIME!
